Is there any way to play SWTOR on a Mac?
Sorry if I broke a rule by posting this, but I'm new, and suck at googling! I appreciate any help/feedback! I recently got a Macbook Pro, and I want to get back into SWTOR. I logged into my profile to get it downloaded so I could play it. I decided to finally subscribe, rather than just keep paying for a bunch of Cartel Coins. I did all that, just to find out that I cant use the installer! Although I don't mind supporting this game, I'd like to actually be able to play the damn thing! So if anyone could let me know how (or if) I can play SWTOR again!
Edit: Thanks all for the great advice! I was able to score a free copy through my school! I'm downloading it now, and should be able to play soon.

SWTOR SETUP STEP BY STEP:
Updated: 2018-10-23 - For Version 18.0.0 +
Requirements:
- Cross Over 18.0.0 - Does not work with any earlier versions
Step by Step:
- Click on [Install a Windows Application]
- Type 'Star Wars' and select the installer for 'Star Wars: The Old Republic'
- Start the Install process and go through the install of all the Microsoft and Third Party components.
- DO NOT START THE GAME at the end of the CrossOver Install.
- Finish the install so that CrossOver installs and sets up the Installer.
- Download the swtor_fix.exe from here: https://github.com/aljen/swtor...
The actual file itself is from this link (but if the site changes use the link above: (https://github.com/aljen/swtor_fix/blob/master/swtor_fix.exe) - Right Click on your bottle and select 'Open C:Drive'
- Navigate to: 'Program Files Electronic Arts BioWare Star Wars - The Old Republic' (it can be placed in other locations but I have had success putting it here)
- Drag the SWTOR_FIX.EXE in to the directory.
- To Make it easier to load (on a mac, on linux you can use soft links, will update when I try install on linux) create an Alias (Right click on file and select 'Make Alias'.
- Drag the Alias file to the root of drive_c. This is optional but it will help you load the file faster when using the Run Command. (DO NOT Close the Window)
- Run the SWTOR fix by clicking on Run command and selecting the file (now in drive_c). A Window will open saying waiting for swtor ....
- If you want to make the future execution make sure you press the [Save Command as Launcher] in the window.
- If you want to make the future execution make sure you press the [Save Command as Launcher] in the window.
- start 'Star Wars - the Old Republic', the program will start and close down a few times while the installer updates. When you are prompted with to Log-In. Close the Installer.
- Right Click on the Bottle and Open thew C Drive, and navigate to 'Program Files Electronic Arts BioWare Star Wars - The Old Republic' folder.
- Look for file called launcher.settings and open it with a text editor.Once opened you will need to modify the following 4 Lines starting at line 10 (at the time of this writing, it could move).
Look for line starting with: ', 'PatchingMode': '{ 'swtor':'
and change that line and the other lines to say the following:
, 'PatchingMode': '{ 'swtor': 'SSN'}'
, 'bitraider_download_complete': { }
, 'log_levels': 'INFO,SSNFO,ERROR'
, 'bitraider_disable': 'true' - After you finish editing, and saving the file
- Star the SWTOR FIX shortcut you created (it might crash)
- Start the Game ... this time everything should work.
Trouble Shooting
A. Any Screen problems (Black Graphics / Maps Not Showing Up / something to do with Video)
A. Any Screen problems (Black Graphics / Maps Not Showing Up / something to do with Video)
- Before you start the game (if you have the game running shut it down)
- Right Click on the SWTOR Bottle (Whatever you named it).
- Select 'Settings'
- Uncheck 'Performance Enhanced Graphics
- Restart The Game
- If the black characters still persist make sure you are running the LATEST version of CrossOver. (this was tested and working on 18.0.0 MAC)
- If it still persists, you might want to set the settings to the LOWEST resolution possible within the game.
- If you still have problems you can try the Memory Fix (In the TIPS section as well).
